The second day of UGM Virtual Career Fair 2021 was held on Tuesday (30/3). The event was attended by more than 300 participants who also came from other universities, even from outside the city. In addition, eight corporate partners and two scholarship institutions spoke on the second day.
The webinar and sharing sessions began with representatives from PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. which laid out the wide-open career opportunities for all university graduates within the company. BNI has several overseas branches, and every employee receives equal placement prospects at any operational office. Meanwhile, BNI’s biggest employment opportunities are for the Officer Development Program positions and apprenticeships.
Next, the speaker from Bank Indonesia delivered a webinar entitled “Career at Bank Indonesia”. In this webinar, it was explained how Bank Indonesia influences regional growth and drives regional inflation. Furthermore, BI participates in keeping the wheels of the economy turning in different regions, one of which by assisting regional MSMEs (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises)—starting from helping with product marketing to making sure so that the products can sustainably become the primary livelihoods of the surrounding community. In addition, Bank Indonesia will open Young Professional Candidates Training (PCPM) programs through both open recruitment and targeted recruitment. The PCPM is kickstarted every second trimester of each year.
The following company, PT Teleperformance, is providing Customer Service and Call Center services. The company, which has been established in 1978 and is located in 80 countries, provides employment opportunities for graduates who want to develop their careers in the service industry. Notably, PT Teleperformance is looking for more than 100 agents to be placed nationally.
Next, the webinar was energized by two scholarship providers: Australia Awards for further studies in Australia and Nuffic Neso for opportunities to study in the Netherlands. These institutions will help those who wish to continue their studies abroad. As scholarship providers, these institutions will also assist the whole process from processing documents to arriving at the destination country. Information can be obtained directly on the respective websites, complete with the required qualifications listed.
The next session was delivered by PT MAS Sumbiri, an apparel and textile manufacture company. The company is looking for graduates from science, engineering, social science, and information technology backgrounds. However, this does not rule out opportunities for graduates from other majors. After that, Niagahoster, a web hosting service provider, also came for a company introduction. Niagahoster takes advantage of the growing need for digital skills in the market. The company attracts many graduates who want to work in a dynamic and flexible environment and are open to all ideas for developing information and communication technology.
The following company, PT Midi Utama Indonesia (Alfamidi) Tbk., is a retail service company that provides basic daily needs and frozen food. The company aims to become a retail network that seamlessly integrates with the community and can meet the community’s various needs. Therefore, Alfamidi is looking for prospective employees to fill the Management Trainee Program, Coordinator Trainee Program, Regular Employees, and Internship position.
PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk., a state-owned company engaged in the trading and distribution of natural gas, closed the second day of UGM VCF 2021. PGN has various business lines spread throughout Indonesia. As one of the largest companies in Indonesia, PGN certainly creates values and provides many work benefits for its employees. But, unfortunately, PGN will only open job recruitment starting in 2022. Even so, UGM VCF 2021 participants are expected to begin preparing for recruitment—both in terms of soft skills and hard skills—so they can become part of PGN in the coming year.
