Based on the Rector’s Organization and Working Procedures of Universitas Gadjah Mada Regulation Number 10 of 2023, the UGM Alumni Office plays a strategic role in building and maintaining close relationships between the alma mater and its alumni. As per Article 154(c), the Alumni Office serves as a link between the university and its alumni, reconnecting them emotionally and professionally after graduation.
The Alumni Office is positioned under the coordination of the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, as stated in Article 184, indicates that the Alumni Office plays a crucial role in supporting the university’s vision and mission in the development and enhancement of alumni quality.
The main role of the Alumni Office, as outlined in Article 185, involves managing career development, programs, and alumni relations. These roles are further elaborated in Article 186, which states that the Alumni Office performs the following functions:
- Career Development:
The Alumni Office actively assists alumni in developing their careers through training programs, seminars, and workshops, providing information on job vacancies and professional development opportunities. The Alumni Office serves as a facilitator for alumni to enhance their competencies and achieve success in the job market.
- Program and Alumni Relations Development:
The Alumni Office is responsible for designing and implementing programs aimed at strengthening the relationship between the university and its alumni. These programs include alumni gatherings, social activities, and scholarship programs for alumni wishing to pursue further studies. The Alumni Office also plays a role in maintaining effective communication with alumni, gathering aspirations and feedback, and positioning alumni as strategic partners in the university’s development.
- Other Functions:
The Alumni Office carries out other functions as assigned by the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni.
