Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) once again holds synergy with KAGAMA at Grha Sabha Pramana, 2nd Floor, on Tuesday (21/5). The event was attended by Dr. Sulistyowati, Head of UGM Alumni Office, and Akhmad Charis Zubair, Chairman of KAGAMA Philosophy.
In her speech, Dr. Sulistyowati encouraged the graduates to gain valuable insights from their senior alumni. She also emphasized the importance of maintaining the values instilled during their studies and staying engaged with their alma mater.
“The values you have acquired during your studies should not be forgotten, and you must maintain your engagement with your alma mater,” Dr. Sulistyowati advised.
Meanwhile, Akhmad Charis Zubair remarked that becoming a graduate is not the end, but a significant milestone. He stressed that the connection between alumni and their alma mater should remain strong.
Mars Ega Legowo Putra, Regional Marketing Director of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, was also present and spoke on the theme “People Development in A New Era.” During his presentation, Mars Ega shared his professional experiences. The graduation briefing session was led by Dr. Ir. Sentagi Sesotya Utami, M.Sc., a lecturer from the Faculty of Engineering UGM.
He emphasized several important aspects to consider when entering the workforce: Personality, Competence, Energy, and Reputation. Mars Ega emphasized that privilege is simply a tool to help achieve our goals.
“There are many paths to success, but the first step is to be a leader for ourselves,” Mars Ega told the graduates.
He added that leaders are made, not born. Mars Ega also highlighted the need to prepare both Plan A and Plan B in one’s professional career journey.
This pre graduation briefing is expected to provide valuable insights for UGM’s prospective graduates as they face the working world.
