In this globalization era, the career world does not only require people with only good academic skills, but also those with strong character. That was told by Dr. Syahrial Mukhtar, M.M. of PT. Pertamina (Persero) in the debriefing of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) October 2016 period prospective graduates on Tuesday (18/10) at the Graha Sabha Pramana (GSP). Syahrial mentioned that there are at least three characteristics of human resources needed in today’s global competition. It is integrity, creativity, and diversity.
“Academic ability may be able to lead a person to a good career, but without a strong character the career will not proceed sustainably,” said Syahrial. To have sustainable business and career, you need to do them with passion. “We always have to learn. It is never too late to learn,” he continued.

According to him, softskill is an important point that need to be mastered in addition to formal education. “Education has one goal. Education makes us discipline,” said Supriyatno. Debriefing that was attended by about 1600 graduating students was closed by a conclusion by moderator Dr. Wening Udasmoro, M. Hum., DEA., Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences. He said that this debriefing is focused on softskill, passion, and the self-characters.
