UGM as a higher education institution always try to increase the education and learning quality. One of the efforts is to capture information from the alumni as an integral part, which is inseparable from the university by the Tracer Study program. Other than as means of alumni tracing, information obtained by this program can also benefit UGM to help adjust the education system to maximize students’ competency so that they are able to compete and are needed by the market. Looking at the great benefits, UGM relaunched Tracer Study 2016.
Tracer Study 2016 was scheduled on 1-30 November 2016 with UGM 2013-204 alumni as the targeted respondents. Dr. Soelistyawati, Head of Alumni Relations Sub-directorate UGM, also expected an increase of respondent from the previous year. “This year organization is expected to increase with 100% alumni respondents to fill out the questionnaires as the target,” she said in her greeting speech at the Tracer Study 2016 program socialization event in UGM Central Building Multimedia Room on Wednesday (9/11).
This event was attended by 30 invited participants who are the representatives of faculty leaders that are in charge of the alumni and two students from each faculty as enumerators. The enumerator is in charge of contact and help the respondent. Other than that, to also monitor participating respondent’s progress by an online application provided by DSSDI UGM.
“Alumni awareness is still lacking so we need an innovative action, this faculty enumerator is expected to be able to help Alumni Relation Sub-directorate UGM performance to be more effective,” continued Soelistyawati.
Haris Swi Wobowo, S.Kom, as Tracer Study UGM information system team, who was also present said that the involvement of enumerator on faculty level is expected to be able to get more respondents. Alumni data owned by faculty is expected to be more updated and detailed. “We hope with this enumerator on faculty level is able to increase participation level in this program,” he conveyed also with technical implementation explanation in front of attending faculty enumerator.
