Universitas Gadjah Mada Directorate of Partnership, Alumni, and International Affairs (DKAUI) through Sub-directorate of Alumni Relations, keeps on improving the quality of its alumni service. This step is also in accordance with UGM Tridharma policy 2012-2037 period on the efforts of becoming a world-class university that is not only excel in education, but also in services. One of the policy’s success indicators is knowledge of alumni distribution through the implementation of UGM alumni Tracer Study program. As conveyed by Dr. Anna Marie Wattie, M.A., Director of UGM Partnership, Alumni, and International Affairs, on the opening of “Tracer Study 2017 Instrument and Application Consolidation Workshop”.
“Alumni data is very important. Not only for the directorate and sub-directorate, but also for UGM in becoming a classy university at the international level, especially for the University Ranking,” she said on her opening speech that was held at Pandawa Room, Swiss-belhotel Yogyakarta on Thursday (2/2).
In addition to that, Anna assessed that the implementation of Tracer Study that has been carried out annually is improving each year. However, she advised to always keep improving, especially on the alumni’s response (response rate) to participate in the Tracer Study program. “Not only on behalf of the university, but also the faculty. So for the success of this year’s Tracer Study, twe need support from all of the parties,” she said before the invited guests of representatives of each faculty and school at UGM.
The workshop’s series of activities that will be carried out one day long are consisted of three main sessions. First is the presentation of result and evaluation of last year’s Tracer Study by Dr. rer. pol. Bhina Patria, S.Psi. M.A .. Proceeded by the discussion of questionnaires and Tracer Study method. And last, the discussion of Tracer Study system application by Directorate of Information Systems and Resources (DSSDI) UGM.
Also attended this workshop was Dr. Sulistyowati, S.S., M. Hum., Head of Subdirectorate of Alumnni Relations UGM, who was also acted as a moderator in discussion sessions. On this occasion, Sulistyowati stated that she is optimistic for the improving implementation of future Tracer Study. In addition to the newer system, she assessed that the support from each faculty who sends enumerator, make successful the response rate from the increasing number of participating alumni each year.
“We are trying on our maximum effort to be able to deliver the best and useful result for UGM and its alumni in particular,” said Sulistyowati.
