Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Dwikorita Karnawati, officially opened UGM Integrated Career Days 2017 at Grha Sabha Pramana on Tuesday (11/4) morning. Through her speech, Dwikorita appreciated the event that was held by the Directorate of Partnership, Alumni, and International Affairs UGM for the third time. Aside from facilitating job seekers with the business world, she also hoped that this event will motivate university graduates to continue to develop themselves and create innovations for country development.
“Young age is a productive age that is currently demanded to have high competitiveness level and to continue to create new innovations, especially to face the global competition. Moreover, the next 30 years Indonesia is predicted to enter the golden age with the provision of demographic bonus,” said UGM Rector in front of the participants.
UGM Integrated Career Days (UGM ICD) in 2017 takes the theme “Brand Yourself, Get Hired!”. A total of 35 partner university agencies participated in the provided booths, including Kapal Api Global, Bank Mandiri, Astra International, and Aneka Tambang (Antam). As in the previous year implementation, UGM ICD 2017 also facilitated Small and Medium Enterprises (UKM), Startups, Non-Profit Organizations (NGOs) and scholarship providers such as Batik Lawe, IWAK, WWF, and Campus France to participate in the two-day event on 11 & 12 April 2017.
Not only career expo that provides information and career opportunities in various companies, UGM ICD 2017 also presented talk shows by bringing inspirational speakers with various interesting themes such as career, entrepreneurship, and Scholarship.
Participants’ enthusiasm in following the whole series of UGM Integrated Career Days 2017 event is very high. Recorded, more than 10,000 participants have registered online through the official website of Sub-Directorate of Alumni Relations UGM (http://alumni.ugm.ac.id/). This amount is doubled from the implementation of UGM ICD in 2016 with its 5000 participants. [Eggy]
