The membership card of Universitas Gadjah Mada Alumni Family (KAGAMA) is now transformed into a more modern shape and appearance after the launching of GAMA Co-Brand Card on Saturday (12/8). If previously only contains the identity of alumni, now KAGAMA membership card can be functioned as a medium of electronic banking transaction in the form of Debit Card/ATM Card. The presence of this GAMA Co-Brand Card can not be separated from the cooperation that has been agreed between UGM, KAGAMA, Himpunan Bank-Bank Milik Negara (Himbara), and Bank Syariah Mandiri (BSM).
According to KAGAMA’s General Chairman Ganjar Pranowo, the idea of the birth of GAMA Co-Brand Card was sparked in internal discussions of KAGAMA members who wanted more benefits for cardholder members. In addition, the member’s high demand for ease of banking transactions in this digital era reinforces the discourse to have integrated membership sign. Therefore, UGM and KAGAMA have agreed to cooperate with Himbara and BSM in the effort of realizing the expectation.
“Banking has spread in almost all the joints of our lives, so the idea blazed in our minds of how we can provide more benefits for KAGAMA cardholders,” he said in the greeting speech at the event “Signing of Memorandum of Mutual Understanding of UGM, KAGAMA, HIMBARA and BSM and Launching of GAMA Co-Brand Card at the Senate Hall of UGM.
Later, UGM alumni can choose one of four banks of Himbara members namely, BTN, BNI, Mandiri, and BRI; as well as BSM, to be integrated into GAMA Co-Brand Card. Various additional benefits will also be obtained, of course, adjusting to the offers and promotions from the chosen bank.
Ganjar Pranowo also conveyed, KAGAMA has been communicating with various partner companies to be able to work together in providing interesting offers for alumni. This cooperation is also considered not only to benefit KAGAMA members but also for partners. Given KAGAMA’s potential with members reaching more than 300,000 alumni spread throughout the archipelago.
“This latest, Wisma MM UGM and Garuda Indonesia have provided discounts of up to 21% for KAGAMA members and their families. Further, we have built communication with Citilink, Kereta Api Indonesia and some hotels such as Alana Group,” he added.
The GAMA Co-Brand card is not only intended for recent graduates, but also for all UGM alumni. KAGAMA Secretariat becomes the main reference for information about registration of this GAMA Co-Brand Card. [Eggy]
