Founded in Germany in 1890, Kuehne + Nagel is one of the world’s leading logistics providers operating in 1,300 locations in over 100 countries.
“This is the first time Kuehne + Nagel visits a campus that is not focused on supply chain. UGM is chosen because it is a world class university that certainly has qualified candidates,” said Uliek Mandiri, Training Manager Kuehne + Nagel at Kuehne + Nagel Indonesia Networking Session held on Tuesday (15/08) at Seminar Room of Central Library of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
As a provider of logistics outsourcing services and supply chain management by both manufacture to company and company to company, the name of Kuehne + Nagel is not well known to students and graduates who are not focused on logistics. Though companies in this field will not die as long as there are still producers, consumers, and goods to be distributed.
“Not only we provide logistics services and supply chains for consumer goods, but also for aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, high technology, pharma and industrial goods,” said Sadra Ginting, HR & GA Assistant Manager of Kuehne + Nagel.
Other than sharing about Kuehne + Nagel, Uliek and Ginting also did not forget to explain about the Operations Trainee program which became the main goal of the company’s visit to UGM. Through the Operations Trainee program, Kuehne + Nagel is looking for future leaders to undergo training and development before being deployed in logistics. The 7 to 8 chosen candidates will undergo a 12-month training period before continuing their career in the Asia Pacific Regional Talent Program and the Global Talent Program that leads to the future leadership of Kuehne + Nagel.
On that day, Kuehne + Nagel directly accepted submissions and did file selection for further interview stage on Wednesday (16/08).
“In Kuehne + Nagel, we can study other countries’ cultures because a vast amount of backgrounds will create a variety of critical ways of thinking and it is good to build a dynamic team,” Uliek concluded closing the Kuehne + Nagel Indonesia Networking Session. [Eva]
