Filling the moment of dependence month with positive agenda, the Regional Board of Alumni Family of Universitas Gadjah Mada (Pengda Kagama) DKI Jakarta held a KAGAMA DKI Jakarta Reunion 2017 with the theme ‘Guyub Rukun Membangun Persatuan dan Kesatuan’ (Harmony in Building Unity and Integrity).
“In the framework of the 72nd independence day of the Republic of Indonesia, we designed the event with an atmosphere of fighting. The history of UGM and KAGAMA activity is presented as a reflection of the struggle,” said Teuku Sahir, Head of KAGAMA DKI Jakarta 2017 Reunion Committee, in his speech.
The event is expected to establish a good relationship among members of KAGAMA, build unity and integrity, and create a KAGAMA generation that always moves forward and be vibrant.
“Seeing this event makes me even prouder of UGM and KAGAMA. What is done by KAGAMA DKI should be appreciated and this is indeed extraordinary because it’s coming from our young friends,” said Budi Karya Sumadi, Chief Executive of KAGAMA Central Board.
The event which was held on Sunday (27/08) at Ecovention Hall Ancol, Jakarta, was attended by more than 2,000 UGM alumni from various professions who live and work in Jakarta and its surrounding areas. Also present were Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc. (Minister of State Secretary), Retno L. P. Marsudi (Minister of Foreign Affairs), and Ir. M. Basuki Hadimuljono. M.Sc., Ph.D. (Minister of Public Works and Housing) who did not hesitate to blend in and add to the increasingly felt family atmosphere.
“I want to convey and remind all of us that in our career, we, as UGM alumni, have to always remember UGM spirits, those are spirit of UGM that is the spirit of fighting, patriotism, and loyalty, especially to the UGM value namely Pancasila and Science,” said Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M. Eng., D.Eng. who also attended the 2017 Gathering of Kagama DKI Jakarta.
According to Prof. Panut, Pancasila has a value that must keep being strengthened and the value of science must also be maintained and implemented wherever UGM alumni work.
Enlivened by Sheila on 7, Sazkia Gotix, and Dewi Yull, the event that was organized by KAGAMA Muda (Kagama Youth) Jakarta lasted from 09.00 to 15.00. As a form of reflection of Indonesian independence, also featured was Opera Perjuangan from Dufan Fantasy Studio.
