College days gave birth to stories that aren’t easily forgotten in the memories of its alumni. Both joy and sorrow, moments of the past have been recorded and are imprinted forever. Not a few of the alumni longed for those moments, finally they came back to simply reminisce and recall the beautiful moments after so long they left the beloved campus.
As perceived by the class of 1977 alumni who joined in the community of Universitas Gadjah Mada Alumni Family 1977 (KAGAMA 77).
In order to reminisce the feels of Gadjah Mada campus while strengthening the ropes of brotherhood with other fellow members, KAGAMA 77 held a gathering event called “KAGAMA 77 Great Reunion”, on Friday (22/9) to Sunday (24/9), at Universitas Gadjah Mada and some places in Yogyakarta city.
“After 40 years, we can finally reassemble in this place, a historical place, to reminisce and remember the old story that is still attached to our memories until now,” said Anton Mart Irianto, Chairman of the Committee ” KAGAMA 77 Great Reunion” when giving speech at Balairung UGM, Friday (22/9) night.
More than 600 participants from various faculties participated in the event. Some of them dressed in sync to show everlasting solidarity. Anton also revealed, the cohesiveness of the year of 1977 alumni is one of the best among the other years, this is not apart from the many important events experienced by the members of KAGAMA 77 during their college days.
“Year 77 is the last generation to feel the ‘perploncoan’ (hazing) during orientation, will certainly never be forgotten; how we walk from here (Balairung) to the Student Hall with all kinds of attributes,” he said accompanied by smiles and laughter from the audience who remembered the experience.
Several agendas have also been prepared to enliven this gathering event, among them are the hospitality, leisure stroll while ‘napak tilas’ along the campus, dinner together with music entertainment in the courtyard of UGM Hall and fundraising for education scholarship. Not only from Java Island, KAGAMA 77 members from other islands were also present, such as Sumatra, Kalimantan, and Bali Islands. [Eggy]
