The Sub-Directorate of Alumni Relations of Universitas Gadjah Mada UGM) once again held an Alumni Dinner which is an annual agenda to reunite UGM alumni all over the world. Located at UGM Hall, the event which took place on Saturday (16/12) night was attended by more than 300 alumni from various professional backgrounds. Spotted were Prof. Dr. Pratikno, M.Soc.Sc., Minister of State Secretary, and Retno Marsudi, Minister of Foreign Affairs who took attendance at Alumni Dinner UGM 2017.
“Thanks to the alumni with the extraordinary commitment to UGM. UGM always improve itself in all lines of activity so that later, works we do get a good appreciation and can be useful for all parties,” said Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M. Eng., D.Eng. when conveying the latest developments of UGM.
Furthermore, Prof. Panut also expressed his pride to UGM alumni who are very solid and harmonious so we’re able to make a real contribution to UGM. One of the real contributions from the alumni is Kagama Scholarship which is also handed over to UGM students that night. Not only the delivery of Kagama Batch VII Scholarship, there are also Kagama Gelanggang Mahasiswa Scholarship (Kagama Student Activity Center Scholarship to ten students who dedicate part of their time to be active in the Student Activity Unit.
“I am sure that more than 300,000 UGM graduates scattered throughout the Indonesian archipelago and abroad have a remarkable contribution to the development of this country. In addition to cohesiveness and enthusiasm, loyalty is a hallmark of Gadjah Mada alumni both loyalty to the institution of the workplace and to the alma mater. Loyalty is not just a promise, loyalty is a personal commitment to continue to serve the institution for the glory of the motherland,” said Prof. Panut.
Representing the diversity of UGM alumni who come and work in various regions in the archipelago, Alumni Dinner 2017 which lasted from 18.00 to 22.00 presented traditional dance entertainment of East Halmahera and traditional arts entertainment of Lampung by Kagama Lampung. [Eva/Farah]
