I Gusti Ngurah Putu Wijaya is an alumnus of the Faculty of Law UGM whose name is familiar to the world of Indonesian literature. The author of this literary work has published many well-known works and even adapted to several other languages such as English, Dutch, French, German, Japanese, Arabic, and Thai. I Gusti Ngurah Putu Wijaya is also known as an inspiration in the theater industry in the country. Various kinds of legendary Putu Wijaya’s works have brought changes to the nation, making them a role model in the world of theater. From Yogyakarta, Putu Wijaya had a career in Express magazine. The vacuum of Express magazine then caused Putu Wijaya to move and then became an editor in Tempo magazine in 1971-1974. After that, Putu Wijaya and his colleagues in Tempo magazine established Teater Mandiri in 1974, which he had carried around the United States in staging Yel drama and performed in Japan in 2001. Putu Wijaya had also performed with Literature Workshop led by W.S. Rendra in several performances. At the age that is no longer twilight, Putu Wijaya continues to work with Teater Mandiri and increasingly inspires Indonesian artists and writers to continue working and developing.
