Government officer (PNS) is still becoming the most-wanted jobs for the jobseekers. The strong attraction of its selection makes the candidates must have a good preparation to be able to compete with thousands of their competitors.
The National Agency of Drug and Food Control of Republic of Indonesia (BPOM RI) conducted Job Fair and Education Talkshow as a form of CPNS Socialization. For the CPNS selection this year, BPOM provides 1078 formations. Universitas Gadjah Mada was chosen as one of five (5) top universities to get an opportunity to have CPNS Socialization from BPOM. This means opportunities for those who like challenges, have integrity, investigative, innovative, and also nationalist to join at BPOM.
The enthusiasm of the socialization participants was shown from the crowd which surrounding the booth that provides BPOM profile. Hundreds of UGM Alumni who came from various faculty were packed inside the Hall of the Library of Vocational School of UGM (Saturday, 29/9/2018). During the speech, the Director of Partnership, Alumni, and Global Initiatives, Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, S.Si., M.Sc. conveyed his gratitude and appreciation towards BPOM for the job fair and socialization events in the university. “BPOM this year opens 1078 formation. UGM along with its 18 faculties and 2 schools are a comprehensive potential because its alumni have academic and soft skills that already given during the study. This is truly a big opportunity for the alumni and students”, he conveyed.
Dra. RR. Maya Agustina, Apt., M.Sc. as BPOM Deputy II of Supervision of Traditional Medicine, Health Supplements, and Cosmetics also gave speech and opened the event officially. During her speech, she said that, “BPOM currently starts to get people’s attention because of its strategic position towards the consumed foods and drugs that people have. The scope of work is not just about technical affairs, but also the infrastructure development which should be supported by personnel from various field. Wide area of Indonesia becomes one of the challenges for BPOM”.
Dra. RR. Maya Agustina, Apt., M.Sc. added, “Recently, BPOM also already have deals with ASEAN countries and international organizations. The control of drugs coming to Indonesia is very important because many drugs contain dangerous ingredients. This also challenge for BPOM to protect the people. BPOM does the supervision, from top-to-toe. Moreover, the biodiversity becomes an important point for BPOM. Unpopular traditional medicines will be researched further. This year, BPOM already done benchmarking to India and China, which already use traditional medicines, even get them on the insurance list. To conduct a whole supervision, BPOM cooperates with the Supreme Court, National Intelligence Agency, and Police Department.
After an inspiring opening speech from two influential people, talkshow was held with theme “Build Your Path, Discover Your Future”. Talkshow was guested by some of BPOM keynote speakers, BPOM Deputy of Supervision of Processed Foods, Ir. Tetty Helfery Sihombing, M.Sc., said that BPOM gives an open opportunity for their staff to continue their study to the doctoral degree and abroad training. “Soft skills are very important. High GPA but never socialite with other people is also not good. We must have networking and good communication skills. Join an organization, cross faculty community is also important too, because when we work, we do not just communicate with friends or colleagues, but also with the leaders from various field.” [Irzha]
