Bali – The Balinese people have high awareness and motivation to preserve sustainable environment which make Keluarga Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA) to do a movement and collaborate with them to actualize a sustainable environment by planting orchid flowers.
This orchid planting with KAGAMA was done on December 1st, 2018, together with Tumpuk Wariga (Plant Day) of the Balinese people every December 1st.
The handover of species orchids from UGM and KAGAMA Orchid to the local authorities, the Munduk people in Puri Lumbung, continue with tracking in Amerta Jati Forest as the symbolic form of orchid planting.
Each of the planting participants brought orchid seeds to plant in Amerta Jati Forest. The far track and difficult environment did not make the spirit from the participants go down.
The people were very appreciating UGM and KAGAMA supports to the awareness towards environment conservation and they expressed it by putting fences around green belt and forest garden in Tamblingan Lake, Munduk Village, Bali.
This activity was initiated by KAGAMA Orchid, KAGAMA Jalan-Jalan, and the member of Kafegama, Bli Putu Ardana (owner of Don Biyu) and Mr. Drs. Nyoman Bagiartha (owner of Puri Lumbung Cottages_. At the end of the activity, the participants got the chance to visit Panglipuran Village, the cleanest village in the world. [Irzha]
