Yogyakarta – The digital world has changed many aspects of our lives, without we realize. President Director of Gama Techno Indonesia, M. Aditya Arief Nugraha during the Public Lecture and Talkshow ‘Nasionalisme di Era Digital’ in Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) UGM, Thursday (6/12) said that technology could change characteristic and culture.
For example, on social media platform like Facebook, people tell a story about things that happened on their daily lives, give opinion related to recent issues and news, and spread information. Without they realize, actually, they are contributed as reporter, voluntarily for Facebook.
Aditya asked the talkshow participant to think about how digital could contribute for Indonesia’s future because digital has brought so many possibilities.
Talkshow yang juga menghadirkan Evan Purnama, CEO Qiscus.com ini bertujuan untuk membuka pandangan pemuda bahwa di zaman digital pemuda Indonesia masih dapat memberikan sumbangsihnya untuk kemajuan negara, tidak hanya sekedar menjadi pengguna.
This talkshow also invited Evan Purnama, CEO of Qiscus.com. He persuaded to widen the perspective of the youngster that in this digital era, Indonesian youngster still could give their contribution to the country, not only become a user.
Evan Purnama, who graduated from Singapore, is coming back home to his hometown in Bantul, Yogyakarta to develop startup business which he thinks could give contribution, such as job occupancy to the local community.
“Qiscus.com is a startup which helps companies that need customer chat feature. For example, chatting feature between driver Go-Jek and its customer. Recently, Qiscus.com has already handled millions of user chat” he explained.
“In this digital era, students must learn about things needed for few years ahead, such as taking an online course so you have skill to be able to compete in this digital era” he gave a message to the audience.
Pembicara ketiga dalam talkshow inspiratif ini yaitu M.S. Fikri, Head of Community Management Bukalapak menyampaikan bahwa hidup di era digital juga ada peluang untuk membuka usaha.
The third guest speaker in this inspirative talkshow is M.S. Fikri, Head of Community Management Bukalapak. He said that living in digital era equals to the opportunity to start a business.
“The number of internet users in Indonesia today is approximately 50 percent from total citizen. This means, our opportunity in technology startup business still huge because there is another 50 percent of people we can approach.” said Fikri, the alumnus of Communication UGM 2004. After he graduated on 2009, he continued to take his post graduate degree in Amsterdam through LPDP Scholarship Program.
Recently, Fikri becomes a lecture for online marketing course in London School of Public Relations and also becomes consultant in Tourism Board to explain about the impact of digital disruption.
“According to researcher, in 2020, 2 million of new job occupancy will emerge, but 7.5 million of current job occupancy will extinct. Job position that will be neede by many workfield on 2022 are data analyst, data scientist, artificial intelligence, and organizational specialist.”
“While I studied at UGM, during the first year, I joined seven campus organizations but on the second year, I have decided to be focused on some organization only, so I could have network. As a student, do not limit yourself!.”
