Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., officially launched UGM Integrated Career Days 2019 at Grha Sabha Pramana on Wednesday (10/4) morning. Along with Head of Bank Indonesia Branch Yogyakarta, Hilman Tisnawan and Executive of BRI Branch Yogyakarta, Fajar S. Pramono, they pushed a button as the launching sign of UGM Integrated Career Days 2019.
During his speech, Panut said that this event has been initiated by Directorate of Partnership, Alumni, and Global Initiatives UGM and has become an event to re-connect partnership between UGM and UGM’s partners.
“Good relationship between high educational institution and industry will give a good advantage for both sides. Industry through companies which offer career opportunity, and high educational institution as a facility to create best talents resources to be able to make their career in the industry mentioned before,” he said.
Rector oof UGM also said many partnership collaborations that have been done by the university and the industry has given an indirect impact to the country’s economic growth.
Hilman Tisnawan during his speech also said similar things about good partnership with high educational institution is a mutualism symbiosis. Hilman also added UGM ICD 2019 as a place to find best talents resources.
“The best talent nowadays is not just all about graduates who have good academic score, but also graduate who understand digital technology development which has become a challenge for the industry today,” he added.
Not just a career expo, UGM ICD 2019 also encouraged entrepreneurship by facilitating students who want to open their own food and beverage booth for free. This is a promotiona opportunity for them as a young entrepreneur.
