PT Mitsui Indonesia has collaborated with Universitas Gadjah Mada to conduct sharing session with Universitas Gadjah Mada alumni and students on Thursday (3/5). This event was held in 2nd floor of UGM Main Library Building and it discussed about working culture in Japan and continued with PT Mitsui Indonesia and Mitsui Talent Development Program profile presentation. Head of Subdirectorate of International Affairs, I Made Andi Arsana, Ph.D., also attended and gave opening speech in this event.
During his opening speech, Made said that UGM provides alumni who is willing to learn to be better individual. Made also expected that many alumni could make their career and develop their potential skills in PT Mitsui Indonesia.
As one of the big Japanese companies, during the talent development program presentation, they presented the audience about the insight of working life in Japan and working with Japanese people.
“One of the working habit uniqueness in Japan is that they have kaizen or continuous improvement. Every time will be an improvement, step by step, to be better individual, such as ladder which will get higher from step to step,” said Rahendra Kusherybowo, Personalia Division of PT Mitsui Indonesia.
PT Mitsui Indonesia is one of the Japanese sub company which dominantly in manufacture industry. PT Mitsui also a type of company that prioritizes improvement of its human resources. It is shown from the number of management training for talent development program which held for the candidate to help them exceeding their career higher.
PT Mitsui also gives scholarship by on the job training so students could experience working directly. The purpose of this scholarship is to make fresh graduates who join this program, to be able to dig their potential through position they are placed in.
“PT Mitsui has many investments in many field such as automotive, manufacture, and education, so it is not just one big manufacture company,” said Ade Nugroho, Chemical Division of PT Mitsui Indonesia.
Rahendra explained that through this program, the candidates could be able to improve their potential skills, their interaction with partners, and to see opportunity they can take to exceed their career level.
