Keluarga Alumni Fakultas Ekonomi Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA) South Sulawesi held an inauguration event for members of the organization period 2019-2022 at Ballroom Hotel Novotel Grand Shayla, Makassar in Chaeril Anwar Street on Saturday (6/7). This event was also become reunion and gathering.
The inauguration was led by Vice General Secretary of KAFEGAMA, Muhammad Ade Irfan. Through musyawarah besar on last June, the selected Chairman of KAFEGAMA South Sulawesi is M. Fankar Umran who also Executive Vice President Bank BRI. Prof. Dr. Gagaring Pagalung (Head of Microfinance UNHAS), Tony Hajar (Director of Pelindo IV), and Kuswardono Riwan (Director of Bosowa Cements) were also selected as Council Member.
Ade Irfan said during his speech that the purpose of KAFEGAMA establishment was to make each alumni of Faculty of Economy and Business (FEB) UGM connected and supported in both professional career development and idea contribution to promote economy development in South Sulawesi.
KAFEGAMA inauguration event was not only an inauguration but also there was a talkshow session which the guest speakers are experts in economy such as Bambang Kusmiarso (Chief Representatives of Bank Indonesia Makassar), Eko Suwardi, Ph.D. (Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM), and Hendri Saparini, Ph.D, an economist and Director of CORE.
Hendri Saparini as guest speaker was expected to the FEB UGM alumni to be able to contribute in their own field. As an economist, Hendri also stressed the point when there are many potential in every region in Indonesia if they are creatively managed. This is could give extra added value which will increase local income such as tourism industry and creative economy industry.
There was also Chief of Pengda KAGAMA South Sulawesi which represented by Dr. Rahmat, representatives of KADIN South Sulawesi, APINDO South Sulawesi, IMA (Indonesia Marketing Association) Makassar, and ISEI (Indonesia Economy Graduates Community) Makassar.
At the end of the event, Dean of FEB UGM, Eko Suwardi, Ph.D said that he appreciates this event and hoped that alumni always gives positive contribution toward their surroundings.
Beside inauguration event on Saturday, there was also other events held such as fun walk and city tour with alumni on Sunday (7/7). This fun walk agenda invited KAFEGAMA council members and FEB UGM alumni in Makassar and the route started from the hotel towards Losari Beach, Makassar, one of the city landmarks.
