Keluarga Alumni Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA) Washington DC visit to Universitas Gadjah Mada was one of the proof that UGM is a home for every alumni. The well-built relationship through visit or partnership is an actual proof of alumni contribution to support quality development of the campus.
The visit was held in Thursday (27/6) and was welcomed by Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., and Director of Partnerships, Alumni, and Global Initiatibes, Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, S.Si., M.Sc., at Rector Room, UGM Main Building, and there was Chairman of Pengcabsus KAGAMA Washington DC, Abdul Nur Adnan.
Not only established partnership with Rector of UGM, KAGAMA Washington DC also funded books related to social politics, medicine, economy, culture, and history. Moreover, as Sahabat UGM donor, there was Sahabat UGM certificate handover from Rector of UGM to Chairman of Pengcabsus KAGAMA Washington DC. By being Sahabat UGM, KAGAMA Washington DC has already take part in the university development contribution and help students to maximize their capacity.
Lately, politics, health, and environment have become the hyped issues to talk about. These funded books will enrich book collection of the library and give benefits to UGM students related to those issues, for example, related to the most recent topic in Indonesia, in Pathway to Democracy book, it discusses about how politics in contemporary world and to see democracy transition from various point of view which will influence culture, economy development, and international politic of a country. Related to environment topic, TIME: Global Warming (The Causes, The Perils, The Solutions, The Actions: 51 Things You Can Do) which sees global warming phenomenon as international common problem and they try to explore the root of the problem and the advance solution because it will relate to supply of energy, land for living, and living beings sustainability.
Either lectures or students, they are always convinced to be able innovate and be creative to this nation’s development. It is expected that from this KAGAMAA Washington DC funds, UGM community could expand their knowledge and use the source of knowledge as the way to find a solution for problems in Indonesia.
KAGAMA Washington DC will always expand the network to all the United States of America region in order to make KAGAMA exists in many cities in the US, reminding that many UGM alumni di the US.
