Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in collaboration with the Government of India Ministry of Human Resource Development held an Information Session: ASEAN Fellowship Program on Wednesday (1/8) in the Seminar Room of the 2nd Floor Central Library UGM.
This activity presented Prof. Nomesh B. Bolia from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi who explained about studies in India. Prof. Nomesh conveyed in front of about 50 participants that India today has shown progress for economic, political and educational progress. India has also become one of the choices of places to continue study because Indian tech industry is one of the best in the world level.
This Info Session activity at the same time provides information on scholarships that can be followed either from among lecturers, researchers, or S2 students who want to continue their studies to India, especially at the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi). IIT Delhi is an engineering institute that focuses on training, research and development in the fields of Science, Engineering and Technology. The study programs offered are quite diverse including Electrical Engineering; Civil Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Textile Technology; Physics; Management system; and Telecommunications System Management.
India already has a lot of cooperation with various agencies spread throughout ASEAN. Prof. Nomesh said the cooperation between IIT Delhi has also spread to several ASEAN Fellowships and not only in the form of advanced study scholarships but also joint research.
IIT Delhi offers scholarships for S3 for participants who attended this Info Session. IIT Delhi is looking for prospective students who are interested primarily from the faculties of science and technology.
This event presented participants, mostly lecturers who wanted to continue their doctoral studies. In addition to scholarships, this time the Info Session also explained about the lives of foreign students in India, starting from looking for part-time work, living expenses, and so on.
