The Synergy of UGM and KAGAMA kickstarted the third day of UGM Virtual Career Fair 2020 on Thursday (22/10). Bringing “Seizing Job Opportunities during a Pandemic” as a theme, the webinar was broadcasted through Zoom and YouTube live-streaming.
The webinar was hosted by Dian Fatmawati, S.I.P., M.A., a lecturer at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UGM who is currently pursuing a doctoral degree at the University of Melbourne. Delta Hatmantari S., Director of PT Yodya Karya (Persero). The forum discussed job-seeking know-hows and recommendations in a global pandemic context. By tenaciously navigating the internet and earnestly asking the right questions, securing a job during a pandemic will not be as challenging as social media made it to be.
Along with The Synergy of UGM and KAGAMA, the webinar from Berita Satu was also held via Zoom. The webinar carried the title Financial Literacy Goes to Campus “Safe Digital Transactions for Millennials”. Several experts spoke in this session, such as Fankar Umran, CEO of BRI Insurance, Agus Ismail, CEO of Akuberbagi.com, and Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM. The webinar discussed how the millennial community has begun to explore non-cash payments with all its benefits. In addition, there was also a conversation on the importance of organizing insurance for future security. The public distrust in insurance is due to the lack of literacy related to long-term investment. It is also caused by insurance-based fraud cases, which were rampant in the past.

As a business, it aims to become the most prominent natural beauty company in Indonesia. Larissa currently provides internship opportunities and several job vacancies. Employees will later be assigned to several locations in Indonesia.

In addition to delivering company profiles, speakers from Polygon shared their thoughts on the best way to find a job, such as identifying one’s characteristics to finding a suitable job according to one’s respective capacities. Polygon Group also has a large number of positions in the company that is open to all majors. The stages of recruitment were also laid out on this occasion.

Various levels of education can be pursued in France, ranging from vocational school, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees. The advantages of studying in France are scholarships given for accommodation, insurance, transportation, and cultural activities. IFI Yogyakarta also provided an overview of how to live your daily life while studying in France and information on scholarships provided by the French government.
The UGM Virtual Career Fair 2020, held for three days from October 20-22, was expected to bridge job-seeking students and alumni. Apart from getting information about internship vacancies and employee recruitment, there was a lot of other data that can be used to improve the university curriculum. Improvements must always be made so that UGM continuously produces human resources that can fulfill the needs of companies. It can also further strengthen the synergy between UGM, stakeholders, and the government.
