UGM successfully hosted the third day of UGM Virtual Career Fair on Wednesday (31/3). Seven corporate partners and one scholarship institution spoke on the webinar and sharing session series. PT Mandala Multifinance, Tbk.—a company operating in consumer finance, involving leasing, credit card, and consumer financing—strongly started off the event. The company described some of its programs, including the Mandala Management Development Program, a managerial program that targets its participants to occupy upper-middle positions effectively.
The next webinar was brought by PT Industrial Morowali Industrial Park (IMIP), the world’s largest nickel-based industrial park. PT IMIP has four levels of employment, ranging from unskilled laborers, specified skilled workers to managerial positions. Thus, the company is primarily looking for graduates from engineering majors, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Heavy Equipment Management and Maintenance Engineering. Meanwhile, from the social sciences and humanities, PT IMIP prioritizes graduates from Psychology, Sociology, Law, Accounting, and Business Management.
PT Bank Muamalat Indonesia Tbk. continued with a sharing session by Anton Hendrianto, the company’s Head of People Development & Culture. Anton explained how young professionals can survive and thrive in the company by nurturing a combination of hard and soft skills. These two skills are formulated by Anton in Smart X Sharp—if these two elements can run in balance and complement each other, then an individual will continue to develop in the workplace.
On this occasion, Grab Indonesia also delivered a webinar entitled “Managing Talent in Digital Workplace”. Grab Indonesia partakes in a corporate culture that allows everyone in its ecosystem to continuously grow and develop. It is performed by always setting examples, giving each other feedback, remembering the common goal, constant employee involvement, and empowerment. To be part of Grab Indonesia, several criteria such as commitment, resilience, integrity, hard work, willingness to learn, and others must be met. In addition, Grab Indonesia opens many vacancies for young graduates who wish to develop and dare to innovate in the 4.0 industrial revolution.
Next in line for the sharing session was IFI-LIP Yogyakarta, an Indonesian-French institution that facilitates those who wish to continue their studies in France. Numerous scholarships are offered, both from the French Government and non-governmental institutions. The scholarships provided also vary from partial to fully-funded scholarships.
Following IFI-LIP Yogyakarta, PT Nawa Data Solutions presented its company profile. The company is engaged in the information technology and banking industry. PT Nawa Data Solutions opens vacancies for Software Developer Training, Junior Android Developer, and Junior IOS Developer positions. Aside from career opportunities, PT Nawa Data also has internship opportunities for interested participants.
The last sharing session was headed by Sabrina from Nasmoco’s Human Resource Division. She laid out employee criteria that Nasmoco is seeking, such as proficiency in multitasking, adaptability to technology, and agility—which will make people enjoy their work more. She emphasized that it is crucial to know one’s passion first and then apply to a field or position that suits it. Nasmoco is a subsidiary of Toyota with its own dealers and service providers. The company has a strong organizational culture and is proud of their ability to encourage employees and make them enjoy their work.
The role of human resources is vital in contributing to the company’s success. Therefore, the management and development of human resources is part of a strategic step to achieve company goals. Various information regarding self-development were revealed at Wednesday’s UGM VCF 2021. The event was expected to assist participants in their preparation before entering the work field.
