Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with PT Enigma Cipta Humanika (Enigma Camp) hosted a webinar entitled “Career Reality in the Information Technology Field”, on Thursday (24/6) through the Zoom Meeting Room. Approximately 80 participants from various faculties and departments at UGM attended this event.
Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko, S.Si., M.Sc., Director of Partnerships, Alumni, and Global Initiatives, highly appreciated this event. It was an excellent opportunity for alumni and active students to gain career information in the digital world.
“Due to the rapid change of industry demand, we do need people who are skilled,” he said.
He also highlighted that problem solving is the key to career success in this era. So, they could face challenges in the future.
Next in line was the representative of PT Enigma camp, Muhammad Irfan, CEO & Founder of PT Enigma Cipta Humanika (Enigma Camp). He stated that around 69% of companies in the world is facing talent shortage.
“Taking a closer look on the demands and needs, we will definitely face a talent shortage in the telecommunications, media, and global technology sectors, and it is not a small one,” he added.
“Therefore, we need more people who excel in IT such as IT Support Specialist, IT Network Specialist, Cyber Security Specialist, Software Developer, and Data Specialist.”
Not only the knowledge but also the soft skills are measured. The employee must be discipline, adaptable, initiative, showing good leadership and influence, and problem-solving. It plays an important role in shaping their character during work.
Specializing in IT talent management, Enigma Camp explained three programs offered: Program and Services, Talent as A Services, Training as A Services, and Job Connector Services. The participant will learn how to be a great employee who could maximize the opportunity for the company while increasing their productivity through digitalization.
This event was expected to provide the participants with much information on careers in digital era.
