Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with PT Astra Internasional Tbk, conducted a webinar entitled “Astra Career Meet Up: How to Survive at Your Working Environment” on Friday (16/7) through the Zoom Meeting Room.
Approximately 170 students and alumni attended the event. Dr. Sulistyowati, S.S., M.Hum., Head chief of Sub-directorate Alumni Relations remarked that participants would find myriad information that would open up many opportunities, especially in taking part in PT Astra Internasional Tbk.
“Hopefully, we will get the opportunity to pursue a career and survive in the work environment, especially during this condition,” she said.

It includes being beneficial for the country, providing the best service to customers, respecting individuals, fostering cooperation, and striving for the best achievement. Astra International is developing its business lines, especially in the field of development.
Valentina Maria, Head of Recruitment and Assessment of PT Astra International Tbk, stated that we must make the most out of the event. We could share and be open to others, also to gain knowledge and new insights.
The speakers were Susanto Haryono, Senior Industrial Relations Analyst of PT Astra International Tbk and Triyanto, CSR Program Manager of the ESR Division of PT Astra International Tbk. Both are UGM alumni from the Faculty of Law and Faculty of Social and Politic.
Susanto commenced the webinar by illustrating the challenges faced during the current PPKM, which limits our movement and we must move quickly to adjust. He said that there are three supporting aspects to be able to survive in the workplace. First, self-preparation, both mentally and spiritually. Then, to be happy in doing our job. The second is the working environment, which is related to social, family, and act of mutual help. The third is performance. We should nurture those aspects to survive in the workplace.
Next in line was Triyanto. He explained how to succeed in building a network to support our careers in the work. There are five benefits of networking, namely strengthening business relationships, getting new ideas, enlarging new networks, and making us more “visible”, getting access to job opportunities, building self-confidence, and having multiple perspectives. Triyanto also shared some tips on how to maintain relationships with our supervisors and networking.
Through this webinar activity, participants were expected to gain myriad information and some of them could take part in PT Astra Internasional Tbk and contribute to the nation and state. In addition, participants were expected to strengthen their character to become outstanding human resources who are ready to compete nationally and globally.
