UGM successfully hosted the second day of UGM Virtual Career Fair 2021. This event was held on Wednesday (4/8). Six corporate partners spoke in the webinars, continued with a career class by KAGAMA. Approximately 240 participants attended the event.
PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk kickstarted the webinar by introducing its company profile. Organizing “Alfamart” mini-market network, this company offers many job vacancies for various fields of study. Following that, Pou Chen Group Indonesia explained about personal and professional growth, encouraging millennials to develop themselves and always learn at every opportunity.
Next in line was PT Santos Jaya Abadi (PT SJA) represented by Metha, HR Generalist from PT SJA. She shared her experiences during her career at PT SJA. She highlighted the differences between university and work-life, including vacation time, presences, partners, implementation of theory and practice, and salary. Several factors are measured when we work, such as the ability to balance expectations and reality, understand the work culture, willingly learn every aspects, and develop oneself to the maximum.
Following the webinar, Dr. Ari Wulandari, S.S., M.A. hosted the class career. She is an alumnus of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and has published more than 100 works. Known as Ari Kinoysan, she stated that writing is a good job that will definitely link to other jobs in various fields. Therefore, improving our writing skill is crucial.
Next in line were PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk, PT Mandala Multifinance Tbk, and ended by PT Duta Digital Nuasantara (VhiWEB). These companies present their company profiles and share job vacancies in each company division. During the webinar, participants could ask questions directly and have a discussion with the recruiters from partners.
In this event, UGM VCF 2021 also provided many door prizes as icebreaking to increase the participants’ enthusiasm.
Through this webinar, participants were expected to recognize their interests in the work. It was also expected to motivate alumni and final year students to equip themselves with a myriad of knowledge to compete in the industrial world.
