UGM and KAGAMA Madiun successfully organized a series of activities starting with a gathering with the Mayor of Madiun, Dr. Maidi, at the city hall on Friday (12/1) evening. The next morning, on Saturday (13/1), the event continued at the Perhutani Training Center, which was also attended and opened by the Mayor of Madiun, Dr. Maidi. This event marked an important moment in strengthening the relationship between KAGAMA Madiun and the local government. The importance of collaboration in various fields, including community service, student community service programs (KKN), and strengthening Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (UMKM), was also highlighted.
The event began with remarks from the Chairperson of KAGAMA Madiun, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rahmanta Setiahadi, M.P. In his speech, he expressed a strong commitment to support UGM’s programs to improve education quality. He hopes this meeting will bring significant positive changes for UGM and the Madiun community.
Also present was the Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni, Dr. Arie Sujito, who in his speech encouraged all KAGAMA members to continue working together and contributing in various professions to enhance public intelligence. On this occasion, Dr. Arie Sujito emphasized the importance of active roles and collaboration between KAGAMA and UGM in creating positive change. He also expressed his hope that KAGAMA would continue to be an inspiring forum that contributes significantly to national progress.
“I always hope and urge KAGAMA to continue working together, involving various professions, and contributing to enhancing public intelligence, whether through KKN or other educational activities, so that UGM has a broad network,” he emphasized.
The Mayor of Madiun, Dr. Drs. H. Maidi, S.H., M.M., M.Pd., who was also present at the event, expressed his gratitude for the input provided for the advancement of Madiun City. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the comfort that has been achieved, which can continue to improve through the implementation of knowledge. Dr. Maidi reminded everyone that if not properly maintained, this comfort could change and shift.
“Madiun has limited natural resources available. Therefore, one of the important factors for achieving progress is having a high-quality human resource. One way to achieve this is through high-quality education,” he emphasized.
Dr. Maidi also consistently highlighted the importance of education. According to him, the changes that occur are due to the educational knowledge gained through schools and universities. Therefore, it is not surprising that he always pays special attention to improving human resources in Madiun City. He hopes that the people of Madiun City will not become victims of change but can actively participate as agents of change.
This alumni gathering is expected to be a strong initial step in strengthening collaboration between KAGAMA Madiun, higher education institutions, and UGM in efforts to improve the quality of education, community service, and MSME empowerment in Madiun.
