Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) Subholding, in collaboration with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), held an online event titled “Pertamina International Shipping Sailing to UGM.” This event aimed to introduce the maritime and energy logistics industry to UGM students and alumni, who are some of the nation’s best talents. Over 150 students and alumni from various batches and study programs at UGM participated in this event.
“Pertamina International Shipping Sailing to UGM” is an initiative launched by PT Pertamina International Shipping as part of their commitment to fostering close relationships with academic institutions and supporting the preparation of Indonesia’s young generation to become future leaders in the maritime and energy industries. Additionally, this program also provided participants with the necessary preparation to enter the workforce, ensuring that UGM alumni are better equipped to face competition in the job market.
During the event, Devita Maulina H, Manager of Human Capital Operation at PIS, presented an overview of Pertamina’s holding and sub-holding structures, as well as the sourcing strategies implemented by PIS. She explained that PIS has adopted various strategies, such as open recruitment, job fairs, college shopping, bonding systems, referrals, professional data providers, and collaboration programs to find and recruit best talents. Devita also emphasized that PIS enforces a respectful workplace policy that values diversity and upholds equality for all individuals.
“Don’t worry if you don’t have work experience. Fresh graduates still have the same opportunities; the key is to prepare yourself to enter a state-owned enterprise. You can also leverage organizational experience, internships, thesis writing, or moments of honing your competencies,” Devina advised.
With this event, participants were expected to gain a better understanding of Pertamina International Shipping and see the career opportunities offered by the company. Additionally, this event provided UGM students with the opportunity to prepare themselves and become part of Pertamina International Shipping. With this spirit, PIS is committed to continuously supporting the development of Indonesia’s young generation and preparing them to become future leaders in the maritime and energy industries.
