Yogyakarta (8/3), Huayou Indonesia, a leading metal industry company, in collaboration with Northeastern University and the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment of the Republic of Indonesia, launched the Master of Metallurgical Engineering scholarship program. The program aims to provide opportunities for UGM graduates interested in working in China. The socialization of this scholarship program took place at the Smart Green Learning Center (SGLC) Building of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Friday, March 8, 2024.
The Director of External Relations, Stevanus, S.Si., attended this event and acted as the keynote speaker. He explained very thoroughly about this program including the benefits and company profile.
This Master of Metallurgical Engineering scholarship program lasts for three years and consists of 1.5 years of course learning, one year of industrial practice, and six months of research. The participants will get various benefits, such as tuition and dormitory fees during the study period covered by the program, health insurance, pocket money, visas, living allowances, the opportunity to get a job immediately after graduation, and other benefits that will make it easier for them to pursue a career in the metal industry.
“We are very pleased to work together in launching this scholarship program. We hope this program can be a valuable opportunity for UGM graduates interested in developing their careers in the metal industry. With the full support of Huayou Indonesia and Northeastern University, we believe this program will provide useful education and practical experience for the participants,” said Stevanus.
Through this program, the participants will get the opportunity to learn from experts in the metallurgy field and gain practical experience through industrial practice programs organized by Huayou Indonesia. This program not only provides higher education opportunities to Indonesian undergraduates, but also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG point 4 on quality education.
Thus, this program hopes to create a skilled and knowledgeable young generation in the field of metallurgical engineering, who can play a role in driving innovation, increasing the competitiveness of the metal industry, and contributing to sustainable development.
