Yogyakarta (9/4)- The KAGAMA Central Board through the KAGAMA Batik and Wastra Nusantara Community held a Batik Photoshoot & Wastra Nusantara Discussion. This event aims to increase people’s knowledge and love for their batik and wastra which are rich in cultural values.

Roughly 20 people attended the event at Balairung UGM. The Deputy Secretary General VI for Community Service, Sulastama Raharja was present as well. His presence showed genuine support from the KAGAMA Central Board to preserve cultural heritage.

This event was attended by the Director of Community Service Dr. dr. Rustamaji, M.Kes. and the Head of the Alumni Office Dr. Sulistyowati, S.S. M.Hum. who also participated in the photo session. After the batik photoshoot was done, a discussion on the archipelago’s wastra was held. The discussion was expected to increase participants’ understanding of the importance of preserving and appreciating Indonesia’s cultural heritage. At the end of the event, all the participants gleefully enjoyed the meal that had been prepared.

By organizing this event, the KAGAMA Batik and Wastra Nusantara Community hope to make a real contribution in advancing and deepening people’s knowledge and love for the batik and wastra treasures. In addition, this event is also expected to have a positive impact on the achievement of SDGs point 11, which relates to preserving cultural heritage and building inclusive, safe, and sustainable cities.
