Grab Indonesia hosted a Grab Campus Talk titled “Discover Your Career Potential: Unlocking the Sweet Spot between Finance & Technology” in the Auditorium Room, Pertamina Tower FEB UGM, 6th floor. The event was attended by more than 50 students and alumni from various faculties at UGM, who were eager to explore career opportunities in the finance and technology sectors.
Dion Soetadi, CFO of Grab Indonesia, was the keynote speaker, providing an overview of Grab’s evolution as a company. He shared the company’s profile and outlined the various career fields available within finance. According to Dion, finance encompasses areas such as controllership, cash flow management (treasury), mergers and acquisitions (investment), financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, financial operations (finops), internal audit, procurement, taxation, and fintech. He emphasized that what initially appears as a single entity in finance comprises many diverse fields.
“In startups, a variety of roles can be taken on due to the limited number of employees. The owner’s spirit (owner’s mentality), rapid collaboration, and a fast-paced, dynamic work environment,” Dion explained.
The CFO Program Batch 2 focuses on Indonesia and Malaysia, following its previous success in Singapore. This program aims to develop new talents that align with the company’s culture. Spanning two years, the program focuses on team collaboration across all departments, not just finance. Participants will receive various training and mentorship opportunities and will work directly with senior leaders to accelerate their careers.
Furthermore, Anthon Suryadi, Accounting Head of GFG, Rental & Wheel Business at Grab, explained the Grab CFO Graduate Program, which is also part of the company’s career development initiatives. This program aims to accelerate professional growth over two years. Participants will gain valuable experience working with local and regional teams and receive training in various aspects of finance, such as financial planning and analysis, controllership, financial strategy, and corporate transformation.
“With this program, we hope students will experience career growth, skill development, and networking opportunities simultaneously,” concluded Anthon.
