PT Indonesia Morowali Industrial Park (PT IMIP) hosted a campus hiring, internship, and scholarship event at the Yustisia Room, 2nd floor, north wing of UC Hotel, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). The event attracted over 70 students and alumni, reflecting the high enthusiasm among the younger generation.
Dr. Sulistyowati, representing the leadership of UGM, expressed her gratitude and appreciation for the opportunities provided by PT IMIP. “We are very grateful and appreciative of the opportunities given by PT IMIP. We hope that this event will provide a space for students to broaden their horizons and contribute to PT IMIP,” she said.
PT IMIP presented three main programs for UGM: scholarships for students of the Faculty of Engineering, internships at PT IMIP, and recruitment for graduates seeking a career with the company.
“Currently, PT IMIP employs around 110-120 UGM alumni. We hope this number can continue to grow to 200-300, given the significant job opportunities in the mineral and metal downstream sector,” said Achmanto Mendatu, HR Director of PT IMIP.
Bimo Wijayanto, Ph.D., Assistant Deputy for Strategic Investments at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, also spoke at the event. He emphasized the importance of Indonesia’s economic transformation through the downstream processing of metals and minerals as key to the future. “Critical future skills include creative thinking, analytical thinking, and technological literacy,” he added.
This event is part of PT IMIP’s efforts to support Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4 on Quality Education and SDG 8 on Decent Work and Economic Growth. By offering scholarships, internships, and recruitment opportunities, PT IMIP aims to enhance access to education and employment for the younger generation, particularly UGM alumni, contributing to Indonesia’s sustainable economic development.
