Gadjah Mada University (UGM) and the Gadjah Mada University Alumni Family (KAGAMA) held a preparatory session for prospective graduate and master’s students for the July 2023/2024 period. This event is a synergistic effort between UGM and KAGAMA to prepare graduate students to be ready to serve and contribute to society.

In his speech, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Community Service, and Alumni of UGM, Dr. Arie Sujito, emphasized the importance of utilizing the knowledge gained at UGM to benefit the nation.

“The learning process at UGM must be based on Pancasila values and be able to advocate for the interests of the community. Global challenges require us to think creatively,” said Arie.

Meanwhile, Dr. Yanri Wijayanti Subronto, Ph.D., Sp.PD, Deputy Secretary-General V of PP KAGAMA, reminded the importance of the spirit of mutual cooperation and synergy.

“KAGAMA has the tagline ‘Guyub Rukun Migunani Tumraping Liyan,’ which invites us to always work together and benefit others. We hope that graduates can be present in communities that need them,” said Yanri.

The President Director of PT Pelni (Persero), Tri Andayani, who is also a graduate of the UGM Master of Management class of 1998, provided motivation to the prospective graduates. She emphasized the importance of building credibility, working hard, and continuously transforming oneself.

“The spirit of leadership must be continuously developed, and its practice must be adapted to the existing dynamics,” she said.

Through this preparatory session, UGM and KAGAMA hope to continue the ideals of inclusive and sustainable education, as well as encourage graduates to keep contributing to Indonesian society.
