Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi attended and opened the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) of Alumni Family of Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA) in Grha Sabha Pramana UGM, Saturday (16/12). In his speech, the Chief Executive of KAGAMA’s Central Committee invited all KAGAMA members to take an active role in creating a conducive climate in the community. This can not be separated from the challenges faced by the Indonesian nation in entering 2018 and 2019 political years.
“What is the sin of politics? It can be very kind and beneficial to the people,” said Ganjar Pranowo, Chairman of the Gadjah Mada Alumni Family (KAGAMA) in a discussion on Teras Kita: Outlook 2018, Indonesia Challenge in 2018 Political Year, that was held on Friday (15/12) at the Senate Hall of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
Through the National Conference (Munas) that was held on Saturday (11/11), the Alumni Family of Electrical and Information Technology Engineering (KATETI) is now officially becoming an organization that embodies all alumni of Department of Electrical and Information Technology Engineering (DTETI) Universitas Gadjah Mada. The establishment of this organization can’t be separated from the role of cross-generation alumni who are aware of the importance of building a strong bond between fellow DTETI alumni as well as with their alma mater.
“UGM expressed gratitude and highly appreciated the event of Emtek Goes To Campus Yogyakarta 2017 because the media world is very important and in this digital era, it has a great influence on our lives,” said Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng., in his speech at the Emtek Goes To Campus (EGTC) Yogyakarta 2017.
Alumni community of Universitas Gadjah Mada that is actively networking through social media, Kagama Virtual (KaVir), once again showed its concern for the education world by holding a fundraising for Kagama Virtual Scholarship on Saturday (28/10). The event was packed in a seminar that was attended by more than 40 members of KaVir.
Public Broadcasting Institute of Radio Republik Indonesia (LPP RRI) in cooperation with Universitas Gadjah Mada held a National Concert, Unity in Diversity: Proving the Commitment of Jogja Istimewa to One Indonesia. The National Concert which has been successfully held in Jakarta and Kendari, visited Yogyakarta this time with its various festivities.

Ir. Wismana Adi Suryabrata, Deputy Minister of Facilities and Infrastructure, National Development Planning Agency of the Republic of Indonesia (BAPPENAS RI), motivated UGM alumni to participate in the recruitment of BAPPENAS Civil Servants Candidates (CPNS) which was held again in 2017. He considered that Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) graduates have advantage and capability in the field of national planning. It can be proven from the number of UGM graduates that are currently working in BAPPENAS RI. Some of them even gained the trust to occupy strategic positions in formulating national planning and policy.
