The UGM Alumni Office, in collaboration with Nestlé, held a “Career Preparation Class” to support youth empowerment on Monday (24/6). The event was led by Yulia Irwanti, a Talent Acquisition Partner at Nestlé.

One of the speakers was Boengky Pramudya, Nestlé’s Learning and Capability Manager. He highlighted the importance of building a future-ready, diverse, and inspiring workforce. Boengky emphasized that Nestlé’s programs—such as management trainees, nesternship, YES (Youth Empowerment Squad), SETARA, Visit The Nest, and Agripreneurship—offer numerous opportunities for young people to grow and develop.

Ahmad Afid, VP Business Executive Officer of Kitkat & Breakfast Cereals at Nestlé, was a key speaker in this class. He stressed the importance of unlocking potential, confidence, and leadership skills of young people preparing for their careers.

“Confidence is crucial because it helps people believe in their abilities, make positive contributions, take on challenges, make decisions, and build trust and credibility with colleagues and supervisors,” Ahmad Afid explained.

He shared several tips for building confidence at work: focus on personal strength, develop communication skills and influencing skills, cultivate a growth mindset, build networks, and present oneself confidently.

Career Preparation Class organized by the UGM Alumni Office and Nestlé strongly aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth). The event contributes to inclusive and equitable education and promotes productive employment opportunities. Additionally, the focus on leadership and professional development supports SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by preparing a workforce ready for future industry demands. This initiative highlights a commitment to empowering youth and fostering sustainable economic growth.
