IDC Internship Program is designed to provide “real life” industry experience to students with the aim of developing their technical and interpersonal skills, allowing them to be prepared for the workforce. You will have firsthand experience working in a multinational and multicultural organization who is the world’s leading provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and ICT events.

How do I qualify for IDC Internship Program?
- Have a strong academic record
- Be available for a minimum of 12 weeks to take a fulltime placement role and We also have opportunities for those who seek part-time internships over a longer period.
- You must be a 2ndyear or 3rd year student from a recognized tertiary education institution

IDC Indonesia Research/Consulting Internship
The IDC Internship is designed to provide students with research techniques and tools for assessment and evaluation, forecasting models and techniques, and most importantly – the ability to rapidly understand and interpret research and data in a business environment.
These skills are crucial for anyone in finance, marketing, strategic planning, and management roles. Insights gained as part of an IDC internship are invaluable for those in information systems or technology.
The role will work directly with the Country Manager in Indonesia, and the domain specialist in the field locally and in the Asia Pacific region. For those with internships in Consulting, they will also connect directly with the AP regional team on project fulfillment and management.
Job Description
Direct contributions on a program or project, via primary analysis and report writing, on research produced within the domain research group. You will produce research using IDC methodology and taxonomy, focused on, but not limited to, the following areas:
- Market and Competitive Analyses
- Technology Trends and Predictions
- User Demands and Preferences
- Business Models & Practices
Analysis and Research:
- Analysis and report writing associated with the domain research program or Banking & Financial Services
- Primary, independent research inclusive of data gathering, interviewing, data processing analysis, and report generation
Consulting Projects:
- Consulting Group specific custom projects locally and regionally
- Final presentations, wrap‐ups with clients
- Special reports
We are also currently working on these projects in our IDC Indonesia operation:
- Understanding the Indonesian ICT and Cloud Computing landscape, and the impact towards internet companies such as online game publishers, e-Commerce, social media and website/portal hosts.
- Strategically analyzing and assessing ICT consumption by verticals, the impact towards the telecommunications sector, market sizing of the IT Services market, and mobile services
- Total Cost of Doing Business elements – understanding how Indonesia is viewed in the eyes of the world, against neighboring ASEAN and Asia Pacific countries. To benchmark its current standing, and to view manners of which it can improve its standing
- Macro-economic overview – a quarterly update on the macro economic view of Indonesia, inclusive of its GDP growth, FDI, export/import, trade surplus and currency. Entails visiting the statistics department once a month to obtain relevant information when launched.
- PC/Mobile Devices/Peripherals and channels city level study – which entails understanding the landscape and macro-economic view of these cities, to identify purchasing power, rising middle incomes and propensity to adopt PCs and Mobile Devices.

IDC Indonesia Marketing Internship
The IDC Internship is designed to provide students with a hands-on comprehensive overview of all marketing elements within major MNC organizations.
These skills are crucial for anyone in marketing management, media and public relations, and integrated marketing roles.
The role will work directly with the Country Manager in Indonesia, and the Marketing & Events Specialist locally and in the Asia Pacific region.
Job Description
- Organize briefing sessions/seminars/conference/web casts/roundtable campaign to promote IDC research services
- Source for suitable magazines/media and associations to partner with for each other planned event
- Handle event preparations, registrations and other inquiries
- Develop and implement marketing and promotional strategies to boost event registration
- Oversee updating and expansion of contact database of event delegates
- Competitor Intelligence
- Media Monitoring
- Insuring the IDC Circle portal/social media is regularly updated
We are also currently working on these projects in our IDC Indonesia operation:
- C-Level Roundtables, involving key sectors such as Banking & Financial Services, Retail, Mining & Resources, and Transportation/Aviation (forthcoming)
