Following technology progress, many job recruitments use network related things during the process, either receiving job applications or conducting job interviews. Besides its time flexibility, a company could reach more of its candidates because it could overcome location disability and see this kind of stuff happening, it feels important for job seekers to know the ethics to send an e-mail. Here are things to pay attention to while sending a job application through e-mail

  1. Use e-mail address corresponding with your real name

An e-mail address is the first identity that a company sees. Hence, please avoid using an inappropriate e-mail address since it could confuse the receiver and it shows that you are an unprofessional person.

  1. Write subjects and body of the e-mail

Sending an e-mail without write the subjects and body of the e-mail might be equal to throw a random package or send an anonymous letter. Subjects and its body are things that show your purpose on sending it briefly. Therefore, write briefly and clearly using language you mastered so the receiver could understand the meaning of your message. Avoid use emoticons and do not forget to pay attention to the signature part of the e-mail!

  1. Make sure the corresponding job you apply with the job vacancy

As a job applicant, it is usual to apply for a job to multiple companies along with the same CV and application letter. It is allowed as long as you pay attention to the job you apply with the company’s job vacancy. Be careful while copying application letter for different companies or industries. It is much better if you write it based on the information you have searched before through company website and social media.

  1. Correct your typing error

Please write your job application and e-mail correctly. Check and re-check spelling, person’s name, job position, and other things related before send it. If you are having difficulties, you could activate “Spelling and Grammar Checker” on your device. Typing is a small thing that could show how serious are you to apply for the job, and also check your recipient e-mail address and do not miss an opportunity to get your dream job because you type the wrong e-mail address.

  1. Pay attention to e-mail attachment

Forget to send attachment in your e-mail could give an impression that you are a careless person. If you are already do it, immediately send another e-mail with correct attachment along with an apology that you missed the attachment on the previous e-mail. Use a related document name to ease the company while doing recap of applicants’ documents.

  1. Use appropriate photo

You need to set a professional and appropriate photo on your e-mail account, not only on your CV because it could show your professionalism.

  1. Send a reply

After send your job application through e-mail and make it to the interview, you might send a reply stated that you are thankful for the opportunity given. [Irzha]
