PT Pamapersada Nusantara, Indonesia’s largest mining contractor, held a campus hiring event at Gadjah Mada University (UGM) on Saturday (22/6). The event, held in the ballroom of the Teaching Industry Learning Center at UGM’s Vocational School, was attended by approximately 180 students which consisted of alumni from UGM and other universities.

According to Dr. Endang Soelistiyowati, S.Pd., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Cooperation and Alumni Affairs at UGM’s Vocational School, PAMA has been a long-time partner of UGM. Many joint activities have been carried out, including opportunities to hear updates on the latest developments in the mining industry. This allows students and graduates to broaden their knowledge.

“Our collaboration can increase student engagement, and the industry can identify potential recruits. We hope students can contribute their best and create works together with PT PAMA,” said Dr. Endang.

Ridha Renaldi, SHE People & System Development Dept. Head at PT Pamapersada Nusantara, emphasized the importance of field learning through the Fresh Graduate Development Program (FGDP). Besides technical expertise, he believes that consistency and teamwork are also crucial in the industry.

Hendra Maraden, Recruitment Head at PT Pamapersada Nusantara, stated that almost 99% of PAMA employees come from the FGDP program, which serves as the main source for developing leaders in the company.

“We believe UGM is one of the best universities in Indonesia with many departments, and we are confident that UGM is our main source for producing human resources at PAMA,” said Hendra.

The event also featured a talk show session with Ridha Renaldi on the implementation and concept of Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) at PT Pamapersada Nusantara, moderated by Karina Sasti Prabowo, Talent Development Officer at PT Pamapersada Nusantara. This session highlighted PAMA’s role in maintaining a balance between people, planet, and profit in a sustainable manner.

PAMA demonstrated its commitment to sustainability by creating programs focused on developing excellent human resources and responsible environmental management practices. This aligned with several points of Sustainable Development Goals. By offering practical learning opportunities through the Fresh Graduate Development Program, PAMA supports Quality Education (SDG 4). The focus on recruiting fresh graduates aligns with Decent Work and Economic Growth (SDG 8). Additionally, PAMA’s emphasis on sustainable practices and responsible environmental management highlights its dedication to Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12).
